#5 First Short Haircut
Jul. 24th, 2010 04:36 pmI figured I would start out androgynous. Why? Because this is the first time since my hair grew out as a tiny little toddler that my hair has been shorter than my my shoulderblades. Not shoulders- shoulderblades. My ponytail was thirteen inches long (donated it). But I won't bore you; have some pics. Keep in mind, this cut is VERY versatile. I'm only fauxhawking it for now. I probably won't get an indisputably "male" haircut until I come out to my parents.

I'd like to mention that I've wanted my hair short for a while, but let me put this plainly: I never thought it was a big deal. All my life I've seen myself as so ugly. I always hated my face, my hair, my eyes, everything. But now, I see something there. Something awesome. Like I have the potential to be a good-looking dude. This haircut is seriously one of the greatest things to ever happen to my self-esteem. I can't remember ever being so happy with my appearance. It's really made me realize that I need to stop harshing my own mellow. I'm still fat, but this has made me really feel energized about getting into shape, because I'm not just plain ugly.
